First of all, volunteering is
giving help for the community. It is not only working for free but developing
skills. Volunteering is also fun and good. It is the reason why I love it for
helping my community as a tie prove I was the president of my association. I have done it for two years. It was an association of students from Diego in Madagascar .
It is call” AEDDI” Association des Etudiants Dynamiques de Diego” in English it
means “Association of Dynamic Students from Diego”. I was the 7th president who
have had lead this association. The first goal of this association is to help
the community and help the members in their studies.
Leading an association is difficult but it is good. I was reacting as a good president. I created my own staff. For example, vice president, a secretary, treasurer, advisable, etc. I have created my staff by their knowledge. I chose them by their level. For example; I have had chose the major students in different department at university North of Antsiranana . I only chose the major because I need a clever person to help me to make a decision and it’s also easy to work with them. But my two advisable was my best friends. They were also clever students at school. I have chose my friends for advisable because I know them very well and they are always helping me when I need them. But I have had convince them to accept that I want them to work with me. They were not accepting at the first time that I told to them because they are busy man. They said that “it is difficult duty and it needs a time”. I didn’t give up my ideas about what I want to them. I tried to say strong arguments to accept my demand, for instance I really need you my friend to help me for leading our association, and I can’t do it without you. But at the end they accepted it. I was happy and so motivate to be a president to my association. I remember what they said “We are free and so proud to become your advisable for making you a good leader for our association”. After two days of their acceptation I made a staff meeting. The goal of the meeting was to promote the needs of our association and to prepare the first meeting with all of the members. I told to them that from now all of us should have a card and we should change our slogan, our slogan must be “Go straight and think positively”, it means love what you do and believe on it and never give up because AEDDI is the best. They were surprise and made a debate about it. At the end they like and kept it.
To sum up, Volunteering is always a good thing. Thanks to it, I know how to lead an association with many members. To be president is not difficult but needs a quit esprit. I can say that my love for volunteering open me a way to my dream. Now I have more skill about a leadership. Volunteering is useful for those who want to develop their skill and to increase their experience. In addition, it makes us good at what we want to be for the future. I’m seriously sure that what I have done about president of an association reflect my vision. In one word, volunteering is great thing. I love it more than I love myself.
